But God...

But God...

This is a story that can only be described by the short phrase But God...

There are so many things that happen in a person's life from birth to the grave. We all share experiences, and some are common. The purpose of this book is to show what has happened in my life, over the years, that is basically unexplainable. Sure, one can reason away some of it...you can even change the stories slightly and expostulate a "logical conslusion based upon the facts". However, it would be hard to explain away so many things if you take the stories at their face value, and "just believe". Some can be validated by other people; some by public record; some by a combination of several elements. If you read to the end, it is my hope that you will walk away with a different perspective than you had before you began reading.

Chapter 1

My childhood memories are scattered across a landscape of drug abuse, head injuries, and memories too painful for the soul to even desire to dredge up. Some things are better left hidden, until such trust is placed in the light that revelation can not destroy the fa├žade of a happy life. Do you keep things hidden from the light? There is nothing not already seen, so perhaps the only one from whom it's hidden is the one who can not bear it at present.

Of those few memories, these are raw data -- facts: I was born in Canton, MS, in 1959. My sister was born in Jackson, MS, in 1961. My brother was born in Laurel, MS, in 1963. We were living in Corinth, MS, in 1965; Tupelo, MS, in 1967; Durant, MS, in 1969; Lexington, MS, in 1971. In Tupelo we lived in 2 different houses, though very close together. So the facts are that I lived in 8 different houses in the first 12 years of my life. Any hope of permanence had been dashed during the most tempestuous decade of social change in American history.
